Conventional pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology for oxygen production has an inherent limitation. The molecular sieves used cannot adequately separate argon from oxygen, restricting purity to 95.7% at best. As a result, PSA oxygen generators have only achieved 93±2% purity.
